The best of all Moravian rock gardens is in the village Syrovice. The owner is Zdeněk Hlavoň, a quiet man full of energy. He divided the large property with one guest house so he has two theatres for visitors. The upper one is an older limestone crevice garden with compact cushion plants. Many plants are results of Czech expeditions and seedlings from the best sources. He is a top grower and propagator. One example: he has two seedlings of Sphaeralcea caespitosa and his hand pollination of them is resulting in new seedlings. Zdeněk is skillful with stones and his new tufa wall is great art of connecting large stones into an elegant cliff. He obtained the microbe for loving genus Dionysia and his tufa culture is seen in a small alpine house together with other tender alpines.

The new rock garden is in the lover garden with a bold stony pond in its middle. This rock work started with his friend with a crane and a huge bridge stone. Zdeněk finished this picture with smaller stones and perfect smart planting with cushion forming alpines and shrubs. The stones are local and metamorphosed igneous rock shining in full Moravian sunshine. Layers are parallel like in well delivered crevice gardens of the Czech school. The garden has plenty of classic farmers troughs with perfect stony top design and very aristocratic planting with smallest alpines. The garden is furnished with Azaleas and suitable conifers. Well rooted seedlings and cuttings are offered here.
